Dermal Fillers in Los Angeles
Structure and volume, placed conservatively — restoring balance without overfilling.
Hyaluronic-acid (HA) dermal fillers restore structure and volume using a gel made from a sugar your skin already contains. They can refine the lips, support the midface, soften folds and define the jawline — and because they are HA, they can generally be dissolved if needed.
Filler is powerful precisely because it changes structure, which is also why restraint matters. Overfilling is one of the most common ways a natural face begins to look ‘done.’ At Onassis Skin Health, filler is used conservatively and anatomically: the goal is balance and support, not maximum volume.
By The Numbers
A Popular — and Often Overused — Treatment
HA fillers are the second most common minimally invasive treatment nationally. Their popularity is exactly why a conservative, anatomy-first approach matters.

Common AreasWhere Filler Can Help
Used selectively, HA filler can restore or refine several areas — each requiring different products and techniques:
Lips
Subtle definition and hydration, or conservative volume, with attention to natural proportion.
Cheeks & Midface
Structural support that can restore youthful contour and indirectly soften the lower face.
Under-Eye (Tear Trough)
A delicate, high-skill area where careful patient selection and placement are essential.
Folds & Lines
Softening of nasolabial folds and marionette lines where volume loss contributes.
Jawline & Chin
Definition and balance to the lower face and profile.
Overall Balance
Harmonizing proportions rather than enlarging individual features.
The ApproachWhy Restraint Is the Skill
HA fillers differ by thickness, lift capacity and flow, and each area calls for a different product and plane of placement. Matching the right filler to the right location is far more important than the number of syringes used.
Because HA is generally reversible with hyaluronidase, there is a safety margin — but reversibility is not a reason to over-treat. The most natural results usually come from doing less, assessing, and building gradually when needed.

How We DecideEvidence-Based Practice
Aesthetic medicine changes rapidly, and novelty alone is not evidence. At Onassis Skin Health, treatment and skincare protocols are developed with reference to peer-reviewed medical literature and respected clinical guidance — then interpreted for the individual in front of us.
Research does not replace clinical judgment. It informs it.
Published evidence is read in the context of your anatomy, skin type, medical history, risk profile, lifestyle and desired outcome. Product and technique selection, dosing or placement, and pre- and post-care all follow from that combination of evidence and individualized assessment — not from what is simply popular or available for purchase.
When AppropriateCombination Treatments
Volume is one piece of facial aging. Filler is often best as part of a broader, restrained plan that may include:
+ Neuromodulator
Where dynamic movement drives lines, a neuromodulator addresses what filler should not.
+ Biostimulator
For diffuse volume loss and collagen support, a biostimulator may suit better than adding more filler.
+ Laser & Skincare
Surface quality, tone and texture are addressed by resurfacing and a medical skincare plan.
Combinations are recommended only when each element contributes meaningfully to your goals. Sometimes the right plan is a single, well-chosen treatment — and sometimes it is choosing not to treat at all.
CandidacyIs It Right For You?
Good candidates have specific, realistic goals and healthy skin and tissue. Active infection at the site, certain medical conditions, pregnancy and breastfeeding warrant caution or deferral. If a requested treatment would push a face toward an unnatural result — or if the concern would be better addressed another way — we’ll say so and offer an alternative.
QuestionsFrequently Asked
How long does filler last?
It varies by product and area, commonly from several months to well over a year. Thinner, mobile areas tend to metabolize faster.
Is it reversible?
HA fillers can generally be dissolved with hyaluronidase if needed, which is one of their safety advantages.
Will it look natural?
Conservative, anatomy-based placement is designed specifically to look natural. The goal is balance, not volume for its own sake.
What about swelling or bruising?
Temporary swelling or bruising can occur and typically resolves within days; aftercare guidance is provided.
How many syringes will I need?
Often fewer than patients expect. We build gradually and reassess rather than over-treating in one visit.
