MOXI
MOXI® Laser — The Gentle, No-Downtime Glow Laser
MOXI® is the perfect entry point into the world of laser resurfacing — a gentle yet effective, non-ablative fractional laser that brightens, tightens, and refreshes the skin with minimal downtime. It’s often referred to as the “prejuvenation laser,” making it ideal for younger patients, busy professionals, or anyone looking to maintain healthy, radiant skin year-round.
Although Onassis Skin Health now offers advanced lasers like Tribrid™ and HALO®, MOXI still holds a powerful place in our technology lineup. It’s the perfect low-downtime treatment for pigment, texture, pores, and dullness — and works beautifully as part of layered combination therapy.
What Is the MOXI® Laser?
MOXI uses a 1927 nm thulium wavelength delivered fractionally to the skin. This wavelength is absorbed by water in the epidermis and is excellent for treating:
- Brown spots and early pigmentation
- Uneven skin tone
- Sun damage
- Dullness
- Mild texture issues
- Large pores
Because it is non-ablative, MOXI offers noticeable improvements while keeping downtime extremely minimal — usually 24–48 hours.
How MOXI Works
The MOXI laser creates controlled micro-coagulation zones in the upper layers of the skin. This stimulates:
- Cell turnover
- New collagen and elastin development
- Reduction in pigment through gradual clearing
- Smoother skin texture
- More even tone and clarity
Your skin sheds dull, sun-damaged cells and replaces them with brighter, fresher, more radiant skin.
MOXI vs. HALO vs. Tribrid™
Each laser has a unique purpose. MOXI is the gentlest option and can be used year-round, even for patients with active lifestyles or darker skin tones.
Choose MOXI if you want:
- Minimal downtime (1–2 days)
- A “polished,” refreshed look
- Pigment and tone improvement
- Preventative, maintenance-level laser care
- An excellent starter laser
Choose HALO if you want:
- Stronger resurfacing
- More texture and pore reduction
- A hybrid ablative + non-ablative result
Choose Tribrid™ if you want:
- Advanced multi-depth resurfacing
- More tightening + collagen remodeling
- Stronger transformative results
Matthew will recommend the right device based on your skin, goals, and desired downtime.

Who Is a Candidate for MOXI?
✔ Ideal for:
- Early sun damage
- Brown spots + melasma (in combination therapy)
- Dull or uneven skin tone
- Large pores
- Fine, early texture issues
- Anyone seeking “prejuvenation” or gentle maintenance
- Patients of all skin tones
⚠ Not ideal for:
- Deep wrinkles or scarring
- Severe texture issues (better treated with Tribrid™ or Erbium)
- Very recent sun exposure
How Matthew Customizes MOXI Treatments
MOXI allows Matthew to adjust:
- Energy levels (1–20 mJ)
- Density (5–50%)
- Number of passes
- Spot size + coverage zones
This means MOXI can be:
- Very light (pre-event, glow treatment)
- Moderate (pigment clearing + texture)
- More aggressive (when combined with BBL or HALO)
Because MOXI is non-ablative, it is safe to repeat throughout the year for ongoing skin maintenance.
MOXI as a Standalone or Combination Treatment
MOXI is extremely flexible and can be paired with:
- BBL™ (the “MOXI + BBL” combo — a favorite for glowing skin)
- HALO® for stronger resurfacing
- Tribrid™ for deeper collagen stimulation
- Microneedling for enhanced texture correction
- Skincare protocols to accelerate pigmentation clearance
This makes MOXI ideal both as a beginner laser and as part of advanced, layered resurfacing plans.
What to Expect During Your MOXI Appointment
- Topical numbing (optional depending on settings)
- Laser passes that last 10–20 minutes
- Cooling + barrier repair after treatment
Most patients experience:
- Mild redness for 24 hours
- “Sandpaper” texture for 3–5 days
- Brighter skin by day 3–5
There is typically no significant downtime, and patients may resume normal activities immediately.
