Botox & Dysport in Los Angeles
Softening movement, not erasing expression — dosed to your anatomy for a result that still looks like you.
Botox and Dysport are neuromodulators — purified botulinum toxin that temporarily relaxes specific muscles to soften the lines created by repeated expression. Used thoughtfully, they can smooth the forehead, soften frown and squint lines, and subtly refine the brow, while preserving natural movement.
The difference between a natural result and an over-treated one is almost entirely judgment: which muscles, how much, and — just as often — what to leave alone. At Onassis Skin Health, dosing is tailored to your anatomy, muscle strength and goals. Not every line needs treatment, and a frozen look is not the objective.
By The Numbers
A Widely Chosen Treatment
Neuromodulators are the most commonly performed minimally invasive aesthetic treatment in the United States — which makes thoughtful, conservative technique all the more important.

Common AreasWhat Botox & Dysport Can Soften
When movement is contributing to a line, a neuromodulator can help. Common, well-studied treatment areas include:
Frown Lines
The vertical ‘11’s’ between the brows (glabella), one of the most studied and predictable treatment areas.
Forehead Lines
Horizontal lines, softened while preserving natural brow position and movement.
Crow’s Feet
Fine lines that fan from the outer eyes with smiling and squinting.
Brow Refinement
Subtle, balanced shaping or a gentle lift in appropriate candidates.
Bunny Lines
Lines along the nose that appear with expression.
Advanced Uses
Selected uses such as masseter or neck treatment, after individual evaluation.
Botox vs. DysportTwo Tools, Chosen for the Face
Botox and Dysport are both botulinum toxin type A and both work by the same mechanism, but they differ subtly in formulation, onset and spread. Some patients and some areas do better with one than the other — the choice is clinical, not promotional.
Onset tends to be slightly faster with Dysport for some patients, while both reach full effect within roughly two weeks. Diffusion characteristics differ modestly, which can matter depending on the area being treated. What stays constant is the goal: the smallest effective dose, placed precisely.

How We DecideEvidence-Based Practice
Aesthetic medicine changes rapidly, and novelty alone is not evidence. At Onassis Skin Health, treatment and skincare protocols are developed with reference to peer-reviewed medical literature and respected clinical guidance — then interpreted for the individual in front of us.
Research does not replace clinical judgment. It informs it.
Published evidence is read in the context of your anatomy, skin type, medical history, risk profile, lifestyle and desired outcome. Product and technique selection, dosing or placement, and pre- and post-care all follow from that combination of evidence and individualized assessment — not from what is simply popular or available for purchase.
When AppropriateCombination Treatments
Neuromodulators address movement — but movement is only one cause of an aging or tired appearance. When appropriate, treatment may be combined with:
+ Dermal Filler
Where lines are also driven by volume loss, a conservative filler can address structure that a neuromodulator cannot.
+ Laser or Skincare
Surface texture, tone and fine static lines are better addressed by resurfacing and a medical skincare plan.
+ Biostimulator
For broader volume and collagen support, a biostimulator such as Sculptra may play a complementary role.
Combinations are recommended only when each element contributes meaningfully to your goals. Sometimes the right plan is a single, well-chosen treatment — and sometimes it is choosing not to treat at all.
CandidacyIs It Right For You?
Most healthy adults seeking to soften dynamic lines are candidates, but treatment is individualized. Pregnancy and breastfeeding, certain neuromuscular conditions, and some medications warrant caution or deferral. Realistic expectations matter: the aim is a refreshed, natural result — not the elimination of all movement. If treatment wouldn’t serve your goals, or a different approach would serve them better, we’ll tell you.
QuestionsFrequently Asked
How long does it last?
Results typically last about three to four months, varying by individual, area and dose. A consistent treatment rhythm is established over time.
When will I see results?
Some softening appears within a few days, with full effect by about two weeks.
Will I look frozen?
Not when dosed conservatively. The goal is natural movement with softened lines, which is why technique and dosing are individualized.
What’s the difference between Botox and Dysport?
Both are botulinum toxin type A with subtle differences in onset and diffusion. The right choice depends on the area and the patient.
Does it hurt?
Discomfort is minimal and brief; the injections use very fine needles.
