Laser Facial Treatment

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?

The 1,064nm laser treatment, also known as the 1,064nm Nd:YAG laser treatment, offers several benefits for various skin concerns. It's a great treatment option since there is no downtime associated with the procedure.  Some of the key advantages include:

  1. Skin Tightening: The laser energy stimulates collagen production in the deeper layers of the skin, leading to improved skin elasticity and tightness.

  2. Wrinkle Reduction: By promoting collagen remodeling, the treatment can reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

  3. Vascular Lesion Removal: The 1,064nm wavelength is effective in targeting and treating vascular lesions, such as spider veins, broken capillaries, and cherry angiomas.

  4. Acne Treatment: The laser can target and destroy the bacteria responsible for acne, helping to improve active breakouts and prevent future ones.

  5. Pigmentation Correction: It can address various types of hyperpigmentation, including age spots, sunspots, and melasma.

  6. Tattoo Removal: The 1,064nm laser is often used for tattoo removal, as it can break down tattoo ink particles for the body to naturally eliminate.

WHO IS A CANDIDATE?

The 1,064nm laser treatment is generally safe for a wide range of skin types and can benefit individuals with various concerns. Candidates for this treatment may include those who want to address:

  1. Skin laxity and sagging.
  2. Fine lines and wrinkles.
  3. Vascular lesions and redness.
  4. Acne and acne scars.
  5. Hyperpigmentation issues.

However, it's essential for patients to undergo a consultation with one of our qualified healthcare professional  to determine their suitability for the treatment based on their specific skin condition and medical history.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

The 1,064nm laser treatment employs a Nd:YAG laser, which emits a 1,064 nanometer wavelength of light. This particular wavelength is highly absorbed by water, making it effective for targeting various skin concerns.

During the treatment, the laser energy is delivered to the skin in controlled pulses. The energy is absorbed by the target tissues, such as blood vessels, melanin (in pigmented spots), or water in the skin. This absorption leads to selective heating of the targeted structures without significantly affecting the surrounding skin.

In the case of skin tightening and wrinkle reduction, the laser energy stimulates the production of new collagen, which helps to improve skin firmness and texture over time. When used for vascular lesion removal, the laser coagulates and shrinks blood vessels, causing them to fade.

For tattoo removal, the laser breaks down the ink particles into smaller fragments, allowing the body's immune system to gradually remove the ink through natural processes.

HOW OFTEN CAN I DO IT?

The recommended frequency of 1,064nm laser treatments can vary depending on the specific condition being treated and the individual's response to the treatment. In general:

  1. Skin Tightening and Wrinkle Reduction: A series of treatments spaced about 2 to 4 weeks apart is often recommended. Maintenance treatments may be performed once or twice a year to sustain results.

  2. Vascular Lesion Removal: Usually, 1 to 3 sessions are required for optimal results, with 4 to 6 weeks between treatments.

  3. Acne Treatment: Several treatments spaced 2 to 4 weeks apart may be needed to effectively address active acne and prevent future breakouts.

The treatment plan will be tailored to each individual's needs and response to the laser therapy. It's essential to follow the provider's recommendations for optimal results and to ensure the safety of the skin.
